Every hydrogen ion that gets donated by the acid molecule combines with the dissociated ions of water
So, since H20 breaks to form H+ and OH-
Since there's more production of H+ from both acid and water , the solution is called basic however it also contains the OH- ions given from the water.
So, obviously from this fact an acidic solution may contain hydroxyl ions too.
