Hey!

Particles in the air, if fueled with higher temperatures, acquire high kinetic energy which aids them to move fast over a stretch. Hence the smell of hot sizzling food reaches a person even at a distance of several meters.

Answer:

AS TEMPERATURE INCREASES IN HOT SIZZLING FOOD ,THE PARTICLES OVERCOME FORCES OF ATTRACTION AND DUE TO HIGH KINETIC ENERGY THEY REACHES TO YOU VERY FAST FROM SEVERAL METRES AWAY.

AND THAT OF COLD FOOD THE TEPERATURE DECREASES THE PARTICLES LOOSE THE INTERPARTICLE SPACES AND ALSO KINETIC ENERGY ,SO YOU HAVE TO GO CLOSE TO SMELL IT.
