Give reasons for the following : Suggest a reason for the large difference between the boiling points of butanol and butanal, although they have almost the same solubility in water.

because butanol belongs to the alcohol group whereas butanal belongs to the aldehyde

As we know that the boiling point of alcohol is low than the aldehyde. So, there is large difference between the boiling point of butanol and butanal, although they have almost the same solubility in water.
