Give reasons for/the presence of cartilageonous ring sin/trachea

The cartilaginous rings are incomplete to allow the trachea to collapse slightly so that food can pass down the esophagus. A flap-like epiglottis closes the opening to the larynx during swallowing to prevent swallowed matter from entering the trachea.

the presence of ring cartilage is very important for trachea . It acts like our backbone ( not actually but meant for a comparison of its function )

         It  helps to keep our trachea errect without getting collapsed and also to keep the passage clear for air to travel ..cos objects on the pathway might disturb our breathing
