uday9310: The lungs always contain a residual volume of air so that during breathing cycle there is sufficient time for oxygen to be absorbed and for the carbon dioxide to be released.Residual Volume is important because it prevents the lungs from collapsing

Answer:

i- rings of cartilage are present in trachea it supports trachea from collapsing because due to inspiration and expiration our trachea expand and contract and if it does not have and support it will collapse

ii-lungs always contain residual volume because when we expire all the air is not able to go out and it gets stored in lungs as residual volume.
