Give reasons: Solids and liquids co-exist at their melting and freezing points

Answer:

At the melting point the solid and liquid state are in dynamic equilibrium , i.e, the particles are constantly converting from one form to another at a constant rate . This is why solid and liquid coexist at melting point.
