Give reasons:-

When magnesium is burnt in air, there is an increase in mass after the reaction.

Please give me detailed answer.

when magnesium is burnt in air a white solid magnesium oxide is formed. The mass of magnesium oxide is more then the mass of the magnesium . Thus, there is an increase in the mass after the reaction when magnesium is burnt in air
