Give reasons why All alkalis are bases but all bases are not alkalis.

Alkalies are the bases which tend to be soluble when put in water.

But bases are substances that react with acid and neutralize it, and can be soluble or not soluble in any given water.

So, all alkalies are bases but not all bases are alkalies due to the properties of a base.
