Due to the following reasons, plastic containers are used as storing device:-

• They are easily available and widely used.
• They are easy to handle, long-lasting, and cost-efficient as compared to metal containers.
• They are inert.  They do not react with anything contained in it, unlike metal containers. Metal containers react with the substance kept inside them and form a new substance resulting in damage to both the substance and the container.
• Plastic acts as an insulator. It is a poor conductor of heat, so if any hot thing is placed in a plastic container, it will remain hot for a longer period.
