The stability of an atom is generally due to the presence of both positive and negative charges. The atom has a very basic structure in which the central part is made up of positively charged particles called as protons. The Protons carry a positive charges with them.

The nucleus of an atom is also composed of neutral charged particles termed as neutrons. The neutrons do not carry any charges with them.

The electrons are scattered around the nucleus of an atom and revolve around it in a fixed path or orbit. The electrons of an atom are negatively charged particles.

The charge of an electron and proton is similar in value but opposite in charges. This means that the entire mass of an atom and its stability is balanced by the presence of similar and opposite charges. This accounts for the atom being so stable.

Answer:

Atoms are stable though negatively charged electron are revolving within it =》 Atoms are stables though negatively charged electrons are revolving within it because each atom contains equal numbers of protons and electrons. So, charge on negatively charged electrons are balanced by charge on positively charged proton. Therefore, atom is electrically neutral and stable
