these two compounds can be distinguished by the following test:
( 1 ) benzaldehyde being an aldehyde to reduces tollen's reagent to give silver mirror test but acetophenone does not give this test
( 2 ) acetophenone being and methyl Ketone on treatment with undergoes Iodoform test to give yellow PPT. of Iodoformform but benzaldehyde does not
