To solve the problems due to the heavy rain in Mumbai and in Hyderabad following steps should be followed;

Clean your drain channels. If your channels get jammed, rainwater cannot flow down from the drainpipe and will attempt an alternative exit route through roads.

Place a cable balloon protector over the drainpipe from the channel or flat rooftop to restrict it from getting obstructed up by sheaths.

If your house is dwelled on the low terrain and is sensitive to flooding throughout heavy rainfall, assure that the channels are up to standard and maintain your sewer grates clear of debris.

If you have a basement, make assured that everything is stocked at least 7 cm above terrain level.

Assure you have a stock of sandbags.
