Uses of electrolysis are-

  • Metals that easily corrode can be protected by coating them with nickel or chromium (i.e. metals that do not corrode easily )
  • It is also used in the extraction and production of metals like aluminium, magnesium, etc
  • It is also used in refining of metals like copper.
  • It is also used in production of chlorine, sodium hydroxide,etc.
