Isotonic solution has exactly the same concentration as the cell has. Water crosses the cell membrane in both directions but the amount going in is same as the amount of water going out, so there is no overall movement of water

The size of the cell remains the same,when it is placed in isotonic solution because the amount of water going in the cell is equal to the amount of water going out of the cell,hence there is no overall movement of the cell.
