GIVEN- OM=3 cm and AB=8cm

TO DETERMINE--Radius of circle(AO)

FORMULA USED--
 {h}^{2} = {b}^{2} + {p}^{2}

PROOF--

In figure,OM is perpendicular to AB(Perpendicular drawn from the centre to a chord bisects it)..

Thus..AM=MB=4 cm

So..
Using pythagoras theorem in ∆AOM--

 {AO}^{2} = {3}^{2} + {4}^{2} \\ {AO}^{2} = 9 + 16 \\ {AO}^{2} = 25 \\ AO = 5cm
Thus..OA=5 cm
