Sir Simon de Canterville was created by Oscar Wilde and appeared in Wilde's short story, The Canterville Ghost, which was published in February 1887 in the magazine The Court and Society Review. A popular tale, it has been reprinted many times, and adapted into both films and comics.

The story of The canterville ghost revolves around the character of sir Simon who is wondering as a ghost restlessly full stop his past is wicked and his present is Pitiable. After the murder of his wife he is starved to death and he is fettered and chained after his death he become a ghost and wanders alone and does everything that a ghost does.
The ghost has supernatural powers and he plays the role of ghostly appearances with which hi scars his victims but he get no rest. as a ghost, he cannot read to the angels of death to forgive him. He has eyes but he can't shed the tears of representanse. He needs somebody to do these things for him. So far nobody has bothered about his misery. He is fed up with his ghostly life and wants to die. He represents but he cannot be in the valley of death due to his ghostly nature. He understands that situation and request Virginia to be his saviour. She feels his plights and helps him to get salvation
