The classification of solvent on the basisof proton donar and acceptor properties are mentioned below:

- The solvent is said to have properties of proton donar if it is an acid like HCl , H2SO4 because on dissociation acid produce hydrogen ions

- Acid donate their protons and acquires positive charge . These proteins are accepted by the base.

- The solvent is said to have properties of proton acceptor if it is a base like NaoH because on dissociation base produce hydroxide ions that carry negative charge.

- As the negative charge attract positive charge so they accept the proton as proton is positive in charge.

- Moreover, Bases need electrons to complete their octet so they accept electrons easily.
