"GUI stands for Graphical User Interface. GUI is a modern interface which supports images, audio, video, animation etc. It also supports multitasking and use of a mouse. Example: Windows, Linux etc.

CUI stands for character user interface. CUI is a very old interface which works only with written text commands. It does not support multimedia functions and multitasking. Example MS DOS."
