Colonialism Basically means Accquiring Control over a Colony (it may be a state or a Country or a region).
Why To Control over Colony.

(1) For Getting Resources from that Colony.
(2)For Intervene the Culture of Colony.
(3)To Expand Their Territories around the world
For Example.
British make colonies in Many Part of world like In India,Many parts of Asia,Africa etc.So they can take Resources from there for their Mainland England.
