Found in:-

Alluvial soil is founded in Eastern coastal planes in the delta of Mahanadi, Krishna, Godvari, Kaveri. Extends to Rajasthan and Gujarat. Mainly found in Northern plains.

Minerals found:-

Potash, Phosphoric acid and lime are generally found in Alluvial soil.

Crops grown:-

Sugarcane, paddy, wheat, cereals and pulses are generally grown on Alluvial soil.

Properties:-

  1. Proportionate share of sand, silt and clay.
  2. Classified as Khadar and Bhangar.
  3. Highly rich and fertile soil.
