Answer:

Dimensional Formula is defined as the expression of the physical quantiy in terms of its basic unit with proper dimensions.

The dimension of mass, length and time are represented as [M],[L] and [T] respectively.

So in order to write dimensional formula of

1 Work -

Work=Force×Displacement

Now keeping unit of force and displacement we get the unit of work.

Work=Nm

Now N=kgm/s2

So,

Work=kgms2×m

Work=kgm2s−2

So dimensional formula of work is

Work=ML2T−2

2 Pressure

Pressure=ForceArea

Now keeping unit of force and area we get the unit of pressure.

Pressure=Nm2

Now N=kgm/s2

So,

Pressure=kgms2m2

Pressure=kgmm2s2

Pressure=kgm−1s−2

So dimensional formula of pressure is

Pressure=ML−1T−2

3 Energy

Energy is defined as the capacity to do work

So,

Energy=Work=ML2T−2

Pressure

Pressure (P) = Force × Area-1. Or, P = [M1 L1 T-2] × [L2]-1 = M1 L-1 T -2. Therefore, the pressure is dimensionally represented as M1 L-1 T -2.

kinetic energy

Kinetic energy can be defined as the energy possessed by the body by virtue of its motion. Dimensional Formula of Kinetic energy= M1L2T-2. SI unit of Kinetic energy is Joule (J).

Acceleration has the dimensions of velocity (L/T) divided by time, i.e. L T−2. The SI unit of acceleration is the metre per second squared (m s−2); or "metre per second per second", as the velocity in metres per second changes by the acceleration value, every second.

SI unit: m/s2, m·s−2, m s−2

Dimension: L T −2
