a)Cartilage is a connective tissue found in many areas of the body including:

Joints between bones e.g. the elbows, knees and ankles

Ends of the ribs

Between the vertebrae in the spine

Ears and nose

Bronchial tubes or airways

FUNCTIONS-Cartilage protects bones from rubbing against each other at joints. Cartilage also supports the shape of people's ears and noses and other bodily structures. For example, the trachea would collapse without the cartilage bands running down its length.

B)Areolar tissue is found in our skin, mucous membranes, around blood vessels, nerves, etc.

FUNCTIONS-it gives support, strength and elasticity.

C)It is found under the skin, around the kidneys, around the heart, padding along the joints, etc

FUNCTIONS-It acts as an insulating layer, helping to reduce heat loss through the skin.

It also has a protective function, that is,providing mechanical protection and support around some of the major organs.

It also stores energy.food that is excess to requirements is converted into fat and is stored within adipose tissue in the body.
