Different types of Acids of Boron are:

Orthoboric Acid (H3BO3)

Metaboric Acid (HB02)

Tertraboric Acid (H2B4O7)

  • Boron is the 5th element of the periodic table. It is represented by the "B" symbol and it is a non-metal belonging to the P-block with a molar mass of 10.8 u.
  • Borates are the salt of oxyacids of Boron such as Orthoboric acid(H3B03), Metaboric Acid(BH02), and Tetraboric Acid(H2B407).
  • Orthoboric Acid (H3B03) is a chemical compound with the formula H3BO3. It is formed when abundant borax is dissolved in water.

 Na2B4O7*(10H2O) + 2 HCl - > 4 B(OH)3 + 2 NaCl + 5 H2O

  • Metaboric Acid(HB02) is a colorless water-soluble solid formed by the dehydration or decomposition of boric acid. When orthoboric acid is dissolved in water and heated above 140 °C, orthoboric acid yields Metaboric acid (HBO2).

B(OH)3 - > HBO2 + H2O

  • Tetraboric Acid(H2B407) is formed when it is heated above about 180 °C, metaboric acid dehydrates, forming Tetraboric acid(H2B4O7).

4HBO2 - > H2B4O7 + H2O

Hence here are the names, formulas, and preparation of the acids of boron.
