Inert gas atom is krypton. Its atomic number is 36. The

electronic configuration of Kr-atom is:

Ii, 2i 2p6, 3i 3p6 3d 10, 4i 4p6

Totals-electrons = 8

Total p-electrons = 18

Difference = 18 - 8 = 10

Total d-electrons = 10
