The names are given as follows:
Central picture: Roots having root nodules
Following the first arrow towards right:
1. Root hair
2.Rhizobia
3.Infection thread
4.Bacteroides
5. Root nodules
Then again it is redirected to the central picture.
This shows the process of root nodule formation in a leguminous plant.
The steps are described as follows:
1.Rhizobia attacks the plant by attaching themselves to the root hairs.
2.This leads to the formation of an infection thread that results in the entry of the bacteria into the root cells.
3.Bacteria grows and multiplies in number within the root cells resulting in the formation of bacteroids.
4.The root cells enlarge and gradually give rise to the root nodules.
