Some properties of metals are as follows :
⏺️Metals are usually hard.
For example, Iron, Manganese, etc.
❌Exception - Sodium and Potassium are so soft that they can be cut with a knife.
⏺️Metals are generay solid at roon temperature.
For example, Aluminium, Iron, etc.
❌Exceptions - Mercury is liquid at room temperature. Also, Gallium and Caesium melt when kept in hand.
⏺️Metals have high melting and boiling points.
⏺️Metals are malleable. Malleability is the property of a substance by virtue of which it can be beaten into thin sheets.
For example, Aluminium is used as Foil Wrap in various households fir storage of food.
⏺️Metals are ductile. Ductility is the property of a substance by virtue of which it can be drawn into thin wires.
For example, Copper wires are used in domestiv electric circuits.
⏺️Metals are sonorous. Sonority is the property by virtue of which the substance produces sound when struck hard.
For example, the Electric Bells in schools use the property of Sonority of a Metal to produce sound.
⏺️Metals are good conductors of electricity.
For example, Silver is the best conductor of electricity. Copper is also widely used in domestic circuits for conducting electricity.
⏺️Metals are good conductors of heat.
For example, the metallic utensils we use in domestic kitchens are use the property of Thermal Conductivity of a metal. The Electric Iron too does the same.
