Explanation:

A toxin named Bt is produced by bacterial strain called as Bacillus thuringiensis. This toxin was identified to be highly dangerous for the insects which were causing severe damages to the crop. Thus, scientist with the help of genetic engineering process, incorporated this toxin producing gene in plants and converts them as insect resistant plant.
