You can use Rimer-Tiemann reaction to get the product .
- Benzene sulphonic acid is initially treated with an aqueous solution of N a O H NaOH NaOH. It is then mixed with solid N a O H NaOH NaOH and fused at high temperature. The resulting product is then acidified to yield phenol. The entire process has been schematically shown above.
- Acetyl salicylic acid (aspirin) is prepared from phenol by first carboxylation of sodium phenoxide by Kolbe-Schmitt reaction to form salicylic acid followed by acetylation.
