Dear Student,

◆ Range of wavelengths for EM waves -

(i) Radio Waves

  • Wavelength > 100 mm

(ii) Microwaves

  • Wavelength = 0.1 mm to 100 mm

(iii) Ultraviolet

  • Wavelength = 10 nm to 400 nm

(iv) X-rays

  • Wavelength = 1 nm to 10 nm

● Electromagnetic waves-

  • Electromagnetic waves refers to the waves propagating through space, carrying electromagnetic radiant energy.
  • Electromagnetic waves can travel through vacuum.
  • It doesn't need matetial medium to transfer energy from one medium to another.
  • It transfers energy through vibrations of electric and magnetic fields.

# Types of EM waves-

  1. radio waves
  2. microwaves
  3. infrared rays
  4. visible light
  5. ultraviolet rays
  6. X-rays

Thanks dear...
