Dear Student,
◆ Range of wavelengths for EM waves -
(i) Radio Waves
- Wavelength > 100 mm
(ii) Microwaves
- Wavelength = 0.1 mm to 100 mm
(iii) Ultraviolet
- Wavelength = 10 nm to 400 nm
(iv) X-rays
- Wavelength = 1 nm to 10 nm
● Electromagnetic waves-
- Electromagnetic waves refers to the waves propagating through space, carrying electromagnetic radiant energy.
- Electromagnetic waves can travel through vacuum.
- It doesn't need matetial medium to transfer energy from one medium to another.
- It transfers energy through vibrations of electric and magnetic fields.
# Types of EM waves-
- radio waves
- microwaves
- infrared rays
- visible light
- ultraviolet rays
- X-rays
Thanks dear...
