herbivores are otherwise called ruminants. the most common food in their diet is grass, or plants. these plants contain a type of glucose called cellulose, which cannot be digested by humans. so herbivores have a longer small-intestine to digest cellulose easily. the long stucture provides a larger area for proper digestion and absorption. carnivores usually eat meat, which is rich in protien. it is easy to digest. so they have a smaller small intestine in comparison to that of herbivores.
hope it helps u.

Herbivores eating grass need a longer small intestine to allow the cellulose to be digested. Whereas Meat is easier to digest, hence carnivores like tiger have shorter small intestine.
