Earth has different topography, climate and altitude at different places. Difference in these factors has resulted in unequal distribution of resources over the earth.

Surface deposits of minerals have been churned to subterranean depths by plate tectonics, then lifted upward during mountain building to be ripped away by mountain glaciers or ice sheets and moved thousands of miles from their parent location as placer deposits.

Streams have subsequently eroded away these same deposits dropping them downstream in eddies of those streams as discrete deposits to be covered over when drainage channels were abandoned or were instead further transportated downstream as sediment gatherings at river deltas (at the sea) where they once again were churned under to the depths later to be lifted up by plate tectonics (again) to be broken up by weathering of all kinds and redistributed (again) as disparate deposits.

Entire continental sized land masses have been churned, buried, and torn apart by this process spreading mineral deposits of all kinds and types far and wide, high and low over periods of geological time.
