why is it not possible to give fixed position to hydrogen in mendeleev's periodic table

Hydrogen resembles like both the alkali metals and the halogens. Hence, it was placed in IA group VI B group and could not be given a fixed position in Mendeleev’s Periodic Table.

Here uh go wid ur answer :-
In Mendeleev's periodic table, hydrogen (H) was considered in both Group 1A and in Group 7A. This was due to its property of forming both a positive ion, that is in HCl and a negative ion that is in NaH.
