Hey there!

----------

Explanation :

A well ordered and regular arrangement of atoms, molecules or ions in the three-dimensional space is called crystal lattice. If the particles are replaced by points, the crystal structure would be an array of points which is called lattice. These points are called lattice points and the lattice is called space lattice.

Characteristic of Crystal Lattice :

(i) The position of particles (atoms/ions/molecules) in crystal lattice is represented by points called lattice point.

(ii) Lattice points join together by straight lines to bring out geometry of the lattice.

(iii) Each lattice point on corner is shared by 8 unit cells, therefore, contributes \frac{1}{8} to each unit cell.

(iv) Each lattice point on edge is shared by 4 unit cells, therefore, contributes \frac{1}{4} to each unit cell.

(v) Each lattice point on face contributes \frac{1}{2} to each unit cell because it is shared by two unit cells.

So from above we can say, lattice point represents a position of atoms/ions/molecules.
