Give the similarities and differences between the ideas of Raja Rammohun Roy and Swami Dayanand :-

Raja Rammohun Roy was highly educated and had learnt several languages like Sanskrit, Arabic, Greek and Persian so that he could study important books written in these languages. He wanted Indians to learn - English so that they too could learn about the new European ideas. He also wanted people to think for themselves. He worked very hard for the removal of Hindu customs that he thought were wrong. One such custom was sati where a woman was burnt along with her dead husband. This custom was made illegal in 1829.

Swami Dayanand felt that many things were wrong in Hindu society, but his way of changing things was different. He felt that if people went back to the simple life that people had led when the Vedas were written, these things would disappear.​
