It is a butterfly - shaped gland that sits low on the front of the neck. It lies along the front of the windpipe. The thyroid gland has two side lobes, connected by a bridge (isthmus) in the middle

Pituitary gland:

The pituitary gland is a pea-sized oval structure, suspended from the underside of the brain by the pituitary stalk. It sits within a small depression in the solenoid bone, known as the Sella turcica.
