Given that : - ABCD is a rectangle.
Now,----------
AB = CD (Opposite sides of a rectangle are equal.)
So,--------
x + y = 30
=> x = 30 - y .......(i)
Again,-----------
AD = BC (Opposite sides of a rectangle are equal.)
So,-------
x - y = 14
=> x = 14 + y ......(ii)
Comparing the values of y from equations (i) and (ii) , we get,---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
30 - y = 14 + y
=> y + y = 30 - 14
=> 2y = 16
=> y = 16/2
=> y = 8
Now,---------
x = 14 + y = 14 + 8 = 22

Therefore,-----------------
x = 22
y = 8

adding 1 and 2..
x + y + x - y = 20
2x = 20
x = 20/2
x = 10 ans.
given that
x+y = 12
10 + y= 12
y= 12-10
y=2 ans.
