Answer:

Explanation:

1. The atomic number of Zinc is 30. Atomic mass is 65.38 amu.

The atomic number of Carbon is 6. Atomic mass is 12.01 amu.

2. Zinc has 2 electrons in its outer-most shell. So, it loses 2 electrons during bonding and becomes electro-positive.

Carbon has 4 electrons in its outer-most shell. So it forms covalent bonds with other elements during bonding.

3. Zinc reacts with oxygen to form Zinc oxide.

    2 Zn + O2 →→ 2 ZnO

Carbon reacts with oxygen to produce CO when amount of air restricted and CO2  when oxygen is more in amount.    C + O2  →→ CO2

2 C + O2 →→ 2 CO
