Air pollution can be defined as the undesirable change in the atmospheric composition balance due to natural and mostly human activities. Two major causes of it are :

1. Automobile exhausts : The engines of automobiles cause incomplete combustion of fuels leading to release of harmful gases like  carbon dioxide,carbon monoxide , sulphur dioxide and more  which cause severe harm to the atmosphere  and human health.
2. Use of CFC s : Chlorofluorocarbons or CFC s are used mainly in refrigerators for cooling purposes , but they cause very serious harm to the atmosphere as they deplete the ozone layer and also cause pollution.

There are several other causes such as limestone kilns ,burning of coal,fuels etc..
