No work is done even when a force is applied..There can be two conditions for work to be zero..
1).If the displacement of the body is zero..
2). If the direction of displacement is perpendicular to the direction of force..

2 conditions when no work is said to be done even if force is applied to the body are:
1) when even after applying the force the object does not displace then the work done is zero
2) when the applied force is perpendicular to the displacement direction then the work done is zero
W=F.d cosx ;where x is the angle b/w applied force and displacement direction
