Endogenic : The forces coming from within the earth and causing horizontal and vertical movements are known as endogenetic forces. It is these movements which lead to land upliftment and subsidence, folding and faulting, earthquakes and volcanism, etc. endo genetic movements are responsible for giving birth to major relief features such as mountains, plateaus, plains, valleys, etc. these endogenetic movements fall into two major catergories, on the basis of intensity.

Exogenic forces : Exogenic (also known as exogenetic) refers to external processes and phenomena that occur on or above the Earth 's surface. Comet and meteoroid impacts, the tidal force of the Moon and radiation from the Sun are all exogenic. Weathering effects and erosion are also exogenic processes.
