Survey method
Explanation:
- Survey research helps to collect data or a self-report from the participants in the form of factual information or opinions in order to collect details about participant’s attitudes, likes or dislikes, behavior, and beliefs.
- Example 1:
- Providing an online survey to a group of university students questioning about the new dress code laid by their university
- Example 2
- Performing an SMS survey among a group of people regarding a new government subsidy provision
Limitations
- If the survey is not well constructed and administered, it may undermine the research with erroneous data
- Sometimes the survey report answers provided by the participants may not reflect their true inner feeling and maybe dishonest due to social desirability bias
- Response rates, random sampling, nonresponsive bias may mask the survey results
- Time-consuming and expensive than other research
