Rational numbers result in rational numbers when added, subtracted, multiplied or divided.  They do not produce irrational numbers.  Irrational numbers are produced when  square roots or cube roots are taken etc.

 A rational number is  a number that can be expressed as a ratio of integers.

m = p / q  = 4/5  = 0.8
n = r / s =  9/2  or 4.5

sum =  4/5 + 9/2 = 53/10
product =  36/10
difference = 9/2 - 4/5 = 37/10
division =  9/2  ÷  4/5    = 45/8  = 5.625

hope it's help you ✌✌✌
