The Indo-Gangetic plains are the northern plains. The interaction of Indus,Ganga and Brahmaputra is called Indo-Gangetic plains.Due to the fall of Himalayan rivers

(a) Fertility exists .so, population density is high.

(b)The northern region has high intensity of irrigation when compared to the peninsular plateau.

(c)Because of this region,agricultural productivity increased and this lead for the development of agro based industries..

Hence'these northern plains have excellent-infrastructural facilities,this lead to high density of population and are rich in  agriculture
