The rate of diffusion in liquids is faster than solids because in liquids molecules have a greater amount of space between them as compared to solids, or we can say they are less tightly packed. also, liquids can flow but solids cannot.

the rate of diffusion of liquid in another liquid is greater than the rate of diffusion of a solid in a liquid because of the following reasons:-

i) In solid state, particles cannot be compressed easily, but in liquids particles can be compressed easily

ii) liquids molecules have a greater amount of space between them or they are less tightly packed and in solids the molecules are very tightly packed and have very less space between them

iii) liquids can flow but solids cannot.

Explanation:

soo with all these points we conclude that rate of diffusion of liquid in another liquid is greater than the rate of diffusion of a solid in a liquid..
