About Groundnut

⇒ Groundnut is a leguminous plant and it's a kharif crop.

Groundnut has two types :

(i) Runner type

(ii) Bunch type

⇒ India is the largest producer of Groundnuts .

Uses of groundnuts

(i) Nuts are eaten and it has high nutritional value.

(ii) It is used for the manufacture of soap and margarine .

(iii) They are used for extraction of cooking oil.

(iv) The residue left after crushing can be used as fodder for cattle.

(v) It is used for making peanut butter .

(vi) It is an useful crop for crop rotation in the fields .
