           AB = AD

Now, In ΔABC,

         AB + BC > AC ( property of triangle's inequality)

But AC = AD + DC,

       ⇒  AB + BC > AD + DC

But AB = AD,

      ⇒  AB + BC > AB + DC

      ⇒  AB + BC - AB> AB + DC - AB ( subtracting AB from both sides)

      ⇒ BC > DC

           Hence, Proved
