Ramesh was a student of 9 class. He was one of the most intelligent students of the class. He was the apple of his teachers’ eyes. All of us had quite high hopes on him. We were sure he would bring laurels to the school and his family alike. However, just one wrong decision of his ruined his life. He became victim of bad company. He had been such a bright student, but soon his brightness was clouded and dimmed until it was lost forever in the eternal darkness. His parents asked him time and again to leave the company of his bad friends. But he did not listen to them. He secretly met them every day. He started bunking the school, smoking and taking drugs out of curiosity. His addiction and dependency compelled him to consume more quantity.
Within a few months smoking had such a deep influence on his mind, body and soul. He stopped taking interest in academic and co-curricular activities. He became very weak physically. The skin under his eyes would always remain puffy and dark. Most of the time he would remain irritated. Then all of a sudden he stopped coming to school. He had to be hospitalized. His lungs and throat had been badly affected. He remained in ICU at a local hospital for a month. His family was so depressed!
The blossom like potential and talent of Ramesh was spoilt by bad company! If he had listened to his parents, he would not have to undergo so much of pain and disappointment.
