Given that √2 is irrational, prove that (5+3√2) is an irrational number.

let as assume that 5+3√2 is rational

5+3√2 = a/b

√2 = a/b-3 -5

here a/b-3 -5 is rational the 5+3√2 is rational

but it is given that √2 is irrational

therefore 5+3√2 is irrational

this contradiction has arrisen due to our incorrect assumption

so,,5+3√2 is irrational
