so thus de is parallel to bc and de=half of bc

so here de=4x-6 and bc=7x+8

4x-6=1/2×7x+8

so 2(4x-6)=7x+8

ie 8x-12=7x+8

ie x=8+12

so x=20

this value of x is 20

u can verify the answer by substituting value of x in missing terms if de=1/2×bc ie lhs=rhs

so (4×20)-6=1/2×(7×20)+8

ie 80-6=1/2×(140+8)

ie 74=1/2×148
