Given that five whole numbers a, b, c, d and e are the ages of five people, and that a is
2 times of b, 3 times of c, 4 times of d and 6 times of e. Find the smallest possible value
of a + b + c + d + e.

so, b= a/2

3c=a

so,c=a/3

4d=a

so,d=a/4

6e=a

so,e=a/6

so the sum of a+b+c+d+e:

a+a/2+a/3+a/4+a/6

L.C.M of 2,3,4and6....

= 12

now, we equal the denominator.....

12a/12 + 6a/12 + 4a/12 + 3a/12 + 2a/12

27a/12 = 9a/4 .......
